Our Care

Who we care for

Here at Distinguished Care Group our mission is to provide quality, affordable care for those in need. We believe that everyone requiring or choosing to live in a care facility deserves the lifestyle they wish. For some this means being supported to remain as independent as possible and to remain a vital part of the internal and external community. For some it may mean 24hr nursing care and for many their needs lay somewhere in between

We provide quality care for people at whatever stage of life they are at and we meet them where they are comfortable to be. Many people in care have physical care requirements others come to us with needs that are more geared towards assisting them with the impacts of living with a dementia or a related condition, some are requiring palliative and end-of-life care. We offer different types of care for different individuals, designed around their unique personalities, life history and their care requirements. We also offer care packages suited to a multitude of possible choices incorporating a weekend or week convalescing or providing a break for their family of community-based carers where at the other end of the spectrum we can provide long term, permanent care

Our Care

How we care

Whatever stage of their lives people are at when they come to one of our homes, we see them thrive best when they are assisted to maintain close relationships as intrinsic members of extended families and the wider community.

Our homes are partnered with the daily sparkle and we encourage activity lifestyles and each of our facilities have dedicated activities teams alongside the first line carers, senior carers, CHAPS or nurses

We provide in house, home cooked meals and we employ or own chefs. We also deliver in house laundry and housekeeping and at every location we have highly trained maintenance operatives. Our management teams are led by registered qualified manager and in our nursing facilities these are generally also nurses qualified and where not there will be a nurse qualified clinical lead in place

The culmination of this whole team approach is that people experience care in our facilities its not done to them. We also have some specialist care facilities and we train our teams specifically in these areas as well as bringing in external expertise and engaging in active research to ensure our services are rated good and above

While we do not consider dementia to be a terminal condition in the accepted sense, we recognise that in the final stages of many dementias, adopting a palliative approach is the most humane form of respect we can offer and we can arrange transfers between floors or homes where this is required.

Where providing care for people who have only a short time to live or who are in the process of their lives ending, we deliver the highest possible standards of dignity and respect, creating the quietness and space that allow for intimate and precious family moments.

Short Stay Convalesce

We can offer some wonderful environments, some with beautiful, spacious well-kept gardens aimed at supporting older people to recuperate after a period of illness, hospital stays or following a fall or to recover post operation. Our aim is helping you to return home and live independently once again.

Bespoke care designed for you

Living in a care facility but remaining independent for as long as possible does not mean what is used to. Many of our care centres support independent living and we also have some totally independent accommodation which we would be delighted to speak to you about.

The aim of this kind of service is to help people remain as independent as possible, for as long as possible.

Transition to Home after A Stay in Hospital

Older people who have spent a while in hospital following an illness or a serious fall are often not ready to go home or a care package change may be taking longer than anticipated. The longer someone stays in hospital the less enabled they become to return home safely. All our care centres can provide this step-down model of recovery and It usually lasts for no more than six weeks to 12 weeks or until either the person feels ready or the care package is funded: this bridge between total care and independence can often be reached through this type of short-medium term approach and knowing a person is expecting to return home we gear our care towards rehabilitation and allowing older people to return to their own home able to live independently once more.

If, for whatever reason a person does not return to full independence following the hospital stay and their period of rehabilitation, then we can quickly offer different choices for converting to longer term forms of care and our dedicated teams will do this for you offering assurances all around

Yes. The first step, if you are seeking assistance with fees is to get a free needs assessment from the social services department within your local council. There are different levels of funding some which covers social needs and a more stringent assessment where nursing needs are required. Differing funding sources are used for different assessed need to
